Stay safe online

Common scams and how to spot them.

Banks never ask for your password

Real banks won't ask for full passwords, OTPs, or PINs by SMS or email. When in doubt, call the number on your card.

Delivery 'fee' messages are scams

Aramex, Emirates Post, DHL, and FedEx do not collect customs fees via random links. Open the courier's official app instead.

Government won't fine you by SMS

Authorities like RTA, MoI, and the courts use official portals. Verify any 'fine' through the official app.

Never share your OTP

An OTP is only ever entered on a screen you opened — never read out loud, even to 'support'.

Crypto 'doubling' offers are fake

No real platform doubles your money. Influencer giveaways asking you to send crypto first are always scams.

Tech support won't call you

Microsoft, Apple, and Etisalat don't cold-call about viruses. Hang up and verify through official channels.

Romance scams move fast

If a new online connection asks for money, gift cards, or crypto — stop. Reverse-image search the photos.

On desktop, hover over links to preview the URL. On mobile, long-press. Look for misspellings and odd domains.
